Authenticity, Balance and Truth
“As I often tell my students, the person you’ll have the hardest time opening to and truly loving without reserve is yourself. Once you can do that, you can love the whole universe unconditionally.”
— Adyashanti
Mentoring and Yoga Therapy
Connection & chemistry matter. Learning is a co-creative process. In my role as Mentor, Teacher & Yoga Therapist, I believe my primary responsibility is to shine a light on your strengths, allowing you to discover your authentic voice and tap into your passions.
While Yoga is something that can be taught, it is primarily something to be lived. As yoga professionals, we often discover that our personal and professional lives are intertwined. To grow one is to grow the other. The precepts of Yoga inform our life, and in turn, life informs our teaching. We must be willing to “grow” ourselves if we hope to support our students growth.
As Yoga students we blossom into a sense of self that is beyond the body. This blossoming may call forward a deep desire to live life in a new or different way. Ultimately yoga is a journey toward wholeness, Wholeness arises through a process of authentic self understanding, compassion and self love. As we live more in alignment with the truth of our being a deep sense of wholeness arises.
I liken the journey of self-discovery to hiking a mountain – full of beauty and speckled with challenges. This is life. There is no joy without sorrow. No triumph without defeat. Learning to navigate the highs and lows, the duality inherent in life, is the Yogic journey. It commands our attention, our courage and above all our compassion. Harnessing the innermost well of self-love and compassion is ellen’s blueprint for creating safe and courageous space for Mentoring and Yoga Therapy sessions. Let go of the battle. Breathe quietly and let it be. Let your body relax and your heart soften. Open to whatever you experience without fighting.
